Opal Lancaster was a caring person.She enjoyed staying busy with her various interests.During World War II she worked as a welder at Brown Shipyards on the Houston ship channel. After the war she worked as a seamstress for awhile and then Armour Meat Packing company (both in Houston) before moving to Lufkin. She was an avid gardener, cook and seamstress as well as enjoying all sorts of handwork. She was proud of her house which she had built herself. She was a loving mother and grandmother, sister, daughter and aunt. She had a quick smile and cheerful disposition.

Opal enjoyed daughter Doylene & James Cook's family, always doing something for the grandchildren.
