Mary F. Mitchell
Mary F. Mitchell, 80, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, at her residence in Vincennes. She was a former resident of Indianapolis.
She was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Haverhill, Ohio. Her parents were Arthur S. and Pearl B. (Boynton) Goddard. She married William L. Mitchell on Dec. 29, 1946. He preceded her in death Dec. 8, 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Janet L. Purichia of Vincennes; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Mitchell; and two sisters, Julia Blackburn and Grace Hall.
She graduated from Green High School in Ohio and attended Portsmouth Business College.
She was employed for three years by P.R. Mallory as an executive secretary and prior to that at United Bonding Insurance Co. for seven years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and a former member of Greenwood Women's Club.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park North in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice of the donor's choice or American Diabetes Association.
