Both parents were born in Coventry and after the death of this child, decided to immigrate to America.
They set sail aboard the ship, "Camillus", under the command of Captain Charles R. Day.
Leaving the harbor of Liverpool on April 6, 1853, they were at sea by the 13th and after a passage of 62 days, arrived in New Orleans Harbor on June 7th.
Traveling in the family was John Newman Barker, his wife, Mary Ann, who was 6 months pregnant, and their two year old son, Alma Nephi. They had left all behind, the most difficult being their first born baby, in a grave at Coventry.
Tiny Nephi had been buried near his maternal grandmother, Martha Harris Smart Hewitt. She had rested alongside her infant children for 14 years prior to Nephi's death.
