They migrated to Iowa, where six of their children were born and two died - William (1842-1847) and Robert (1846-1847). Young William had lived to 5, Robert only one year; both are buried in Lee County, Iowa.
At one time a memorial plaque was located north of the gravestone of David's mother, in the Willard Precinct Cemetery, but re-location of his original grave is questionable.
