Samuel Douglas Bartlett, 76, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, born Sunday, June 3, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Lloyd Bartlett & Lois (Pulse) Bartlett; went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 14, 2011 in Baytown, Texas with his loving family by his side.
Samuel served his country honorably in the United States Navy and has been a resident of the Baytown area for most of his life. Samuel enjoyed many things in life including, camping, being outdoors, tying flies, fly fishing, and hunting; but what he loved most of all were the times he shared with his family, friends, and beloved dog "Queenie". He also loved supporting his grandchildren in everything they did. Fond memories will always be cherished of Samuel's easy going nature, and how he never met a stranger. Samuel will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Samuel is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lloyd & Lois Bartlett.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Bartlett; son, Michael Bartlett & wife Andrea; daughter, Lisa King & husband Brent; his four dear grandchildren, Justin Bartlett, Ryan Bartlett, Nicholas King and Brandon King and numerous other family and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Sterling ~ White Funeral Home in the Chapel. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation.
