Andrew enlisted in Company D, 178th Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, August 17, 1865 for a 1-year term of service. He died of chronic diarrhea at General Hospital #26 at Jefferson Barracks, MO. Rank: Private. He was apparently originally buried in what became the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery but was removed and reinterred in the Jackson Cemetery next to his brother, Ropha, of the 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry who also died during the war.
