Representative from Oakland County in 1838 & 1839. He come with others and settled in 1825 as a farmer in Orion, Oakland Co., MI. He was elected leader of what was know as "Decker settlement". More can be found in a book "Early History of Michigan, with biographies of state officers, members of Congress, judges and legistators" Authur: Stephen D. Bingham. It is written that the Bigler Cemetery and millpond dam are all that is left of Decker Settlement.
4th Great Grandson Michael has found that Jesse and his wife Mary were alive in the June 31, 1870 US census and hasn't be able to find them in the 1880 census yet. They may have both died between 1870 and 1880.

UPDATE: Mary died 8 Jan 1871, and Jesse died after 28 Mar 1871 as he was present on this date for his declaration of War of 1812 service. Additionally he gives an affidavit for 6 Jun 1806 marriage to Mary Polly Brown on this same declaration of War of 1812 service.
