Jacob Martin, residing on McCarthy's Lane, a few miles east of town died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, paralysis and dropsy taking his life. Mr. Martin was a well-known farmer and has been identified with the locality in which he lived for years. His age at the time of death was 71, and he has always been known as an upright man, full of integrity and honor. He leaves a widow and seven grown children, three sons and four daughters. The funeral will occur tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from the residence, interment being in Fink cemetery. The services will be conducted by Rev. Gospert, of Dayton.
