Milan, MI--After a long and valiant fight with Parkinson's, Margaret Mary (Lamkin) Talladay went to be with her Savior early on Saturday morning, March 23, 2002 at Hope Hospice at Ft. Myers, FL. Margaret was born July 27, 1916 in Whittaker, MI, the daughter of Roland and Lucy (Garrod) Lamkin and was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. During the Depression, she married Lee Talladay, on Dec. 27, 1938, at the home of her parents. She was a teacher in the community, an active member of the Gideon's Auxiliary for many years and a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ypsilanti. Her joys included entertaining, spending time with friends and especially caring for her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her son and his wife, daughter-in-law, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, as well as her brother, Ervin Lamkin. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Talladay and sister, Elizabeth (Lamkin) Slabaugh. The family of Margaret Talladay would like to express appreciation and thankfulness to those who have had a part in her loving care. Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Gideon International and/or Michigan Parkinson Foundation. Nie Funeral Home is where the family will receive friends 2-8 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1007 Ecorse Road, Ypsilanti with Pastor T. Reynolds Hall and Pastor Donald Roe officiating. Burial will follow at Marble Park Cemetery, Milan, MI.
