Miss Emily Anderson, 63, a former resident of Brainerd and a teacher in schools throughout Crow Wing county, died Saturday at Maitland, Fla., where she had made her residence for the past two years.
She was born June 22, 1893, in Brainerd, and was graduated from the Brainerd high school. After teaching for several years, she turned to nursing as an occupation, and studied at Swedish hospital in Minneapolis and Walter Reed hospital in New York [sic] [Washington, D. C.]. She was an Army Nurse in World War I, and served as a nurse at Doctor's hospital in New York City before moving to Florida.
Miss Anderson is survived by four sisters, Mrs. George Wolk, Maitland, Fla.; Mrs. Colin Peter, Brainerd, Mrs. Bruno Olsson and Mrs. Selma Nelson, both of St. Paul; and ten nephews and nieces. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
