Second wife of Thomas Nelson, "Scotch Tom", of York Town and also the widow of Tucker, of Barbados, Bermuda, by who she had one child.
(Genealogy of the Page Family of Virginia, Page 159, C- 1983, 2nd Edition)
==========================================
On February 22, 1723, Scotch Tom married secondly Frances Tucker, widow of Robert Tucker of Norfolk, with two children. Nothing is known of this courtship or marriage, and of the union there was only one child, a daughter Sarah, probably born the next year. (Cited as Edward W. Jones, The Lower Norfolk County Antiquary (5 vols, NY, 1951, III, 42, reprint of 1895 ed by Peter Smith; York Deeds, 5, 1741-54, 509; Emory Gibbo Evans, Dissertation, Degree Date 1957 - "The Nelsons: A Biographical Study of a Virginia Family in the Eighteenth Century".)
==========================================
(Extract from "Patriot Above Profit" by Nell Moore Lee, c- 1988)
..."Governor Fauqier attended a glittering ball given a the Capital though, Lady Fauquier and their son Francis had left the Colony in May 1766.
================================================
William Nelson and the Secretary would not have attended this festive affair. Neither would Robet Burwell, for Frances Tucker Nelson, "Scotch" Tom's second wife, had died in the early days of June. People who read the paper carefully would have observed the obituary in the same issue that announcement the repeal of the Stamp Act: 'On Monday last died at York in the 84th year of her age, Mrs. Francis Nelson, reliect of Thomas Nelson, Esquire of York County. She was a lady endowed with many amicable qualities which makes her death much regreted by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, and particularly by the poor and needy, whose wants she often supplied with a liberal hand.'
