Funeral services for Richard L. Christensen, age 85, of Verdel will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Niobrara, Nebraska.
Reverend Paulo de Tarso Riberio will officiate with burial at Alford Cemetery in Monowi, Nebraska.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Niobrara, Nebraska.

Richard Leslie Christensen was born August 30, 1925, to Elmer Christensen and Hazel Higgins at Monowi, Nebraska in Boyd County. He attended Lynch Public Schools in Lynch, Nebraska. He was married to Betty Jane Pinkerman in January 1945 at Center, Nebraska. Six children were born to them, Marina, Leslie, Larry, Donna, Debra and Darla.
Richard died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in O'Neill, Nebraska, at the age of 85.
He is survived by his children, Marina of O'Neill, Leslie of Verdel, Larry and Charlotte of O'Neill, Debra of O'Neill and Darla of Lincoln; ten grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Donna; daughter-in-law, Dee; sisters, Joyce Reynolds and Arlene Collins; and brother, Donald.
