Funeral Friday for Mrs. Mena Peters

Last rites for Mrs. Mena Peters, life-long resident of this community who died Tuesday afternoon, will be held at her late home, 215 Grove avenue, Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. A. Stauffer officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Peters had been in poor health the last two years. A heart ailment caused her death.

Mena Wessel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wessel, was born in Barrington township October 20, 1857 and was reared and educated in this community. She became the bride of William Peters August 17, 1881 and they made their home on a farm. After a period of five years they moved into Barrington where Mr. Peters engaged in the cattle business. Prior to Mr. Peters' death in 1929, the couple had made their home on the corner of Grove and Station street for 36 years.

Mrs. Peters is survived by two children, Mrs. Luella Rieke and Sam Peters, both of Barrington, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
