Mr. and Mrs. Orange Hyatt

The accompanying photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Orange Hyatt of this place, was taken Feb 21, 1908, it being the 52nd anniversary of their wedding day. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hyatt were born in were born in Sherbrook county, province of Quebeck, Canada. Mr. Hyatt was born Jan. 8, 1829, and Mrs. Hyatt, whose maiden name was Miss Cynthia Pease, Nov. 30 1828.

They were married in 1855, and in 1856 moved to Minnesota, coming directly to Clearwater. One son, Fred, was the first white male child born in this town. Subsequently they moved to Minneapolis and resided there fifteen years, where Mr. Hyatt was connected with various milling enterprises.

They returned to Clearwater in the spring of 1883, and have resided here continuously ever since.. There are three sons living, all married and residents of this township, and one daughter, Mrs. L. R. Davis of Clear Lake, and thriteen grandchildren..

These worthy couples are citizens of the greatest integrity and are highly respected by all to whom they are known.
