John Thomas and Cordelia (Hanley) Seede; ancestors of English and Irish stock, to N. H. about one hundred years ago; grad. public schools, Lowell (valedictorian and Carney medalist), Lowell High School, 1897; B.S. in E.E., Tufts Coll., 1901; m. Schenectady, N.Y., April 12, 1910, Jane Keziah Lewis. Asst designing engr on direct current motors and generators, B.F. Sturtevant Co., Boston, Mass., June-Dec, 1901; with General Elec. Co., Schenectady, in testing dept. Dec, 1901, after eighteen months went to drafting dept. and then to designing dept, then design of induction motors was taken up, promoted to power and mining eng. dept, first on flywheel energy storage problems in connection with steel rolling mill and mine hoist applications 1906, gen. study of electrothermics commenced in regard to both electric welding and furnace applications since 1908. Many patents obtained on inventions concerning control and application of flywheel energy storage, electric welding and electric furnaces. Author of writings of all tech. nature, papers before tech. societies and articles in Gen. Elec. Review. Asso. mem, A.I.E.E., Assn of Iron & Steel Elec. Engrs; mem. Am. Electrochem. Soc. Recreations: Interested in outdoor sports, especially golf, hunting, automobiltng. Clubs: Mohawk Golf (Schenectady), Engineers (New York).
