Gordon served as a Private First Class in the 15th Infantry, 3rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided at 433 Broadway, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army in August 14, 1944 in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Optician and/or lens grinder and polisher and also as Single, without dependents.

Gordon "Died Of Wounds" received in action in Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was first interred overseas and later re-interred here on Wednesday, September 15, 1948.
