Charleston -- Richard W. Erett, 31, of 1618 Poinsetta Rd., died April 20, 1991 at the Medical University of S.C.
Born in Norwalk, Conn., he was a son of Richard E. Erett and June Dove Powell. A graduate of Greenwood High School, he attended Lander College, was a musician was a retired paint contractor.
Surviving, in addition to his father of Stanford, Conn, and his mother of Hodges, are a step-father, Billy Powell, whom raised him, of Hodges; a sister Elaine Erett of Charleston, a stepsister, Mrs. Wanda Baldwin of Cross Hill; three brothers, Mark Powell of Hodges, Alan Erett of Ware Shoals, and David Erett of Stockbridge, Ga.; and a grandmother, Mrs. Orlene Powell of Taylors.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harley Funeral Home with the Rev. J.B. Redd and the Rev. Hugh Fortson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers wil be Chip, Art and Van Youngblood, John Sheppard and Kevin Glenn.
Honorary escort will be Donald Bagwell, Mike Clay, Henry Scrughan Jr., Jeff Brown, Darrell Finders, Jimmy Hlavac, Teddy Linder, Everette Bigbee, J.B Rodgers, Calvin Hodges, Rudolph Price, and Frank and Pete Godfrey.
The family is at the home of his mother, Mrs. June Powell.
The body is at Harley Funeral Home, Greenwood, where the famiy will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight.
