Mrs. Jenny Butts passed away in Laird's hospital in Union Mississippi July 23, 1975. She was laid to rest in County Line Cemetery 3 miles East of Union on July 24th amid the scenes and among the friend and family she loved so much. Rev. Cecil Laird, Rev. Jack Neece and Rev. Elton Winstead officiating.Mrs. Butts was 92 years old. She married John A, Butts of Union Jan 19, 1900. Rev. R.K. Cleveland officated. Jenny age 17 and John age 16. The young couple settled down on a farm in the Greenland community. This was a happy marriage following the principles of Jesus Christ. Old time honesty and old time religion. 13 children was born to this union. John passed away Jan 1929 leaving the entire responsibility on Jenny to raise the children. She assumed the responsibility with love and directed the children in the way of the Lord. 7 boys and 6 girls. Gertie Butts Crocker, Martin Butts, Matthew Butts died young, Mertice Butts, Otto Butts, A.V. Butts, Billy Butts, Lucy Mabel Butts McMullan, Clara Butts Rush, Miss Lillian Butts, Barnie Butts Winstead, William Dub Butts, Sarah Butts Allgood.
