FUNERAL PENDING FOR
FLOYD R. SMEAD

Funeral services for Floyd R. Smead of El Paso are pending with Carpenter Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sunset Gardens. He died Thursday at his home.

Survivors include the widow, of El Paso; four sons, Harold of Carlsbad; Robert of Lubbock; James of Tyler and Melvin of Little Rock, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. B.T. Alley, El Paso, and 11 grandchildren.

FLOYD SMEAD

Funeral services for Floyd R. Smead, 70, retired post office civil service worker of El Paso and former employee of the Potash Company of America in Carlsbad, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Carpenter Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. S.V. Mattson, minister of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

Pall bearers will be L.K. Boll, John Pascoe, E.U. Porter, W.T. Rehders, L.C. Couch and W.A. Welch.

Smead had lived in Carlsbad about eight years before he moved to El Paso in 1948. He was a member of the First Christian Church.

He is survived by his widow; four sons, Harold of Carlsbad, Robert, Lubbock, James, Tyler, Tex., and Melvin, Little Rock, Ark., a daughter, Mrs. B.T. Alley, El Paso, with whom Mr. and Mrs. Smead were living at the time of his death, and one brother, Fred Smead of Florida.
