Author. He is best known for his children’s book "Charlotte’s Web", which he first published in 1952, and became a classic piece of children’s literature. A free-lance writer and a journalist prior to his writing career, he joined the “New Yorker Magazine” in 1927. His many books include, "Is Sex Necessary?" (1929), "The Elements of Style" (1935), "Stuart Little" (1945), "The Trumpet of The Swan" (1970), "Points My Compass" (1962), "The Second Tree From The Corner" (1954), "Letters of E.B. White" (1976) and "Poems And Sketches of E.B. White" (1981). In 1978 he was awarded a special Pulitzer Prize for his literary work.
