Born in Marvin,Va, he was a son of the late Cloyd Edward "Claude" and Virginia Florence "Jennie" Ratliff Deskins.

He was a truck driver for the Pounding Mill Quarry operation and was a Navy veteran of WWII.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

wife, Marie(McNeely)Deskins--

two sons--Michael Deskins and Greg Deskins--

one brother--Daris Deskins and--

three sisters--Lydia Vandyke, Edith McGlothlin and Gaylene Horn.
