Son of George Aldrich, teamster, and Mary Elizabeth (or Elize) Schryver of Hyde Park. Elting served in the armed forces in WWI. He married Helen K. Moeloth prior to 1920, and they lived at 928 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, which was owned by Helen's family. Elting and his brother, George owned and operated Aldrich Roofing on Mill Rd., Poughkeepsie. Elting and Helen later lived on Hooker Rd., Arlington Village, at least through 1948. Elting survived one heart attack in 1944, but was killed by a second while vacationing in northern Vermont in 1960. He and Helen do not appear to have had any children. Requiescat in pace.
