Mildred Robinson, widow of famed boxer Sugar Ray Robinson and executive director of the Sugar Ray Robinson Youth Foundation, died Tuesday of cancer. She was 77.

Born in Atlanta on Jan. 26, 1918, the former Mildred Wiggins moved to the Los Angeles area at an early age.

After Robinson died in 1989, she led the youth-oriented sports program he founded in 1969.
