Major League Baseball Team Owner, Businessman. A real estate yycoon and sportsman, during his earlier years he owned a small construction business called, the Del E. Webb Corporation, they built planned communities for retired persons, business offices and hotels that extended from Florida to Hawaii. The company was soon worth more then $100 million. In 1947 Webb joined partnership with Dan Topping in buying the New York Yankees baseball team. From 1947 until 1964 the team won 15 American league pennants and 10 World championships.
