Hervey Ball was the son of Deacon Levi and Lucy (Burbank) Ball.

He married Sarah Ann Tucker on November 23, 1848 in Pepprell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Samuel and Clarinda Tucker.

To this union four children were born Anna, Frederick, Harriet and Samuel.

Thurdady March 17, 1910

Age 90 years

Hervey Ball was born April 21, 1820 in Townsend Massachsetts and married November 23, 1848 to Anna S. Tucker of Pepperwell, Massachsetts. There was born to them four children Anna Powell of Overton, Nebraska; Harriett Powell of Milton, Oregon; Fred and Samuel Ball of Polk County, Nebraska. His wife and and children and sixteen grandchildren survive him.

He died March 15, 1910 at five o'clock A.M.. He moved from Massachusetts to Brothertown, Wisconsin in 1859 where he engaged in farming, until in September 1870, when he moved with his family to Polk County, Nebraska, locating on a farm in Clear Creek precinct. He sold the farm and moved to Dawson County, Nebraska, where he and his wife resided with their eldest daughter until about three weeks ago when he came Osceola, stopping with his son Fred, until his death. He had been a sufferer for the last three years from a serious illness he had at that time. It was hope of getting relief that caused him to come to Osceola.

He was a man that always identified with public affairs, taking an active interest in all public matters and was the adviser of many of his neighbors where ever he lived.
