In 1902 he appeared on stage in the play "The Second Mrs. Tanqueray" in New York and in 1911 he played the role of Benjamin Disraeli in "Disraeli." In the 1930s he appeared in films including "The Green Goddess" (1930), "Old English" (1930), "Alexander Hamilton" (1931), "The House of Rothschild" (1934) and "Cardinal Richelieu" (1935). In 1929-1930 he was voted best actor for his role in "Disraeli" by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. George Arliss also wrote several plays and autobiographical works including "Up The Years From Bloomsbury" in 1927 and "My Ten Years In The Studios" in 1940. He died 1946 in London, England.
