Dr. William Crosley Tennant had cousins in Lancaster (Canada? Wisconsin?). He and his wife had seven children, four of whom died in infancy or childhood: Willie, Richie, Sybil, and Edith, who lived to be almost 10. He was the father of Robert Hamilton Tennant. He was the tenth mayor of Mount Clemens, Michigan, from 1892 to 1894. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was John E Van Eps' son-in-law. He served as an alderman for six years. He was a member of the Old Crowd.

The Tennant plot in Clinton Grove Cemetery is in the middle of section A of Clinton Grove Cemetery, between the Pelton plot (on the west) and the Van Eps plot (on the east), and adjoins the Robertson plot. Section A is in the center of the front of the cemetery facing Cass Avenue. On entering the cemetery turn left and park half way between the cemetery building and the white building, and then proceed north about half way into section A to find the Tennant plot, which is (in 2006) adjacent to a mature pine tree. The large Tennant stone faces east (the Tennant name is carved into the east side) and is surrounded by the other gravestones, all of which face east.
It is arranged as follows:
Rozanna Van Eps - William C Tennant - Ada M Tennant - Richie Tennant - Willie Tennant - Sibyl Tennant
Mabelle Tennant - Edith Tennant - Helen Tennant

Mt. Clemens. Mich., May 12. - Dr. William C. Tennant died in this city late last night after a long illness. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, Ont., May 9, 1850, coming to this city in September, 1871, and had lived here since, having occupied many positions of trust and honor, and having the esteem of the entire community. He was graduated from Trinity college, London, taking a post-graduate course at Bellevue hospital, New York city, and at the close of his study there was offered a desirable position on a man-of-war, but refused it, preferring the practice of medicine in this country.
In August, 1874, he was married to Miss Belle Van Eps, daughter of John Van Eps, one of the oldest residents of Mt. Clemens. Seven children were born to them. Three girls and one boy are still living, as are his wife and mother, the latter having lived in Mt. Clemens several years.

He was also vestryman in Grace church many years, belonged to the R.A.M., Chapter No. 69, and F.&A.M. No. 6.
The funeral will take place at Grace church Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

He married Ada Mabelle Van Eps 27 Aug 1874 in Macomb, Macomb, Michigan.
