Scientist. In 1956 Pincus co-developed the female oral contraceptive, known as the "pill." In 1960 Pincus began marketing the contraceptive in 1960. In 1954 he co-founded the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology in Shrewsbury, Massuchusetts.
