John Jay McCloy

Politician. McCloy was an adviser to Presidents Roosevelt and Reagan. A lawyer by trade, he entered government as Assistant Secretary of War in 1941. He also served in other posts including, President of the World Bank (1947-1949), Chairman of the Ford Foundation (1958-1965) and United States High Commissioner for Germany (1949-1952). In 1961 he served as John F. Kennedy's Chief Disarmament Adviser. Member of the Warren Commission in the 1960s.
