Orlan J. "Blondie" Wright

Orlan J. "Blondie" Wright, 83, of Centerville, Ohio, formerly of Lewisburg, died Thursday, Sept. 27, at Heartland of Kettering in Kettering.
Born March 9, 1918, in West Alexandria, he was the son of the late Leroy J. and Margaret M. (Stump) Wright. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served on the USS LST 593. Mr. Wright was a general manager for E.J. Bierly Auto Sales and Service, and retired in 1983 after 38 years of service. He also worked for Brower Auto Salvage in Lewisburg for four years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Wright, in 1997; brothers, Richard Wayne Wright, in 1989, and Robert Leroy Wright, in 1997; sisters, Betty Ellen Wright, in 1934, Margaret Clay, in 1993, and Lucille Rebecca Kesler, in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, B. Marcella (Burris) Wright; a son, Darrell Eugene Wright of Centerville, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Waldo David (Veda Jean) Wright, Donald Edward (Jeannette) Wright and Larry Brian (Norma) Wright, all of Lewisburg, and Walter Frederick (Barbara) Wright of Huber Heights; sisters and brother-in-law, Georgianna Louise Harris of Lewisburg and Ida Katharine (Kermit) Warner of Greenville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 1, at Barnes Funeral Home-Lewisburg Chapel, with the Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Burial, with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard, was in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria.
