Mr. Edgar Dean Blessing, age 91 of Unionville passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Glen Oaks Convalescent Center in Shelbyville.

He is a native of Polk County Florida and the son of the late James E. Blessing and Cora Virginia Lindsay Blessing.

He is survived by his devoted and special friend: Virginia Mitchell of Unionville.

Mr. Blessing is survived by his children: Billie Churchwell of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Tommy, Eddie, Michael and Clyde Blessing all of Ohio, Tracy Colson of Kentucky and Geraldine Blessing of Ohio.

He is survived by one sister: Nell Cornish of Georgia. Mr. Blessing is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Gowen-Smith Chapel in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Gowen-Smith with the Army Military Chaplain officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.
