Roderick was the third of 8 children born to Arnold G and Katherine (Schmitt) Kopp. (one of triplets)
He married Alice Margaret Theis on August 30, 1944 at St Mary's of the Purification Catholic Church in Marystown (Scott), MN. They had 8 children: Mary Alice, Gloria Jean, William Arnold, Brenda Joyce, Denise Ann, Pamela Kay, Kevin Gerard, and Debra Rose.
After Alice's death, he married Frances L Schindler Buesgens on June 22, 1963 at St Joseph Catholic Church in St Joseph (Stearns), MN. She had 6 children from her 'Buesgens' marriage: Theresa, Kenneth, Daniel, Paul, James, and Gloria.
Roderick and Frances had 2 children: Christine Teresa and Mark Roderick.
