Tom was a farmer and not very ambitious. He was a very quiet man and was content to let his wife be in charge. He worked at the Coleman Electric Generating Plant in the 1930s. After he retired, he tended to the two milk cows and the chickens and the yard work and garden and set on the front porch a lot.
