THE CRITTENDEN PRESS ~ Feb. 19, 1937.

Funeral services for William Marion Ford, former resident of this county, were held at Providence, Saturday morning with Rev. Denny Hubbard, Shady Grove, officiating. Death occured at his home Thursday morning. Mr. Ford removed from his home, near Shady Grove, to Providence several years ago.
Survivors are ten children, Mrs. Ben Fowler, Mrs. Ellis Martin, Champ Ford, all of this county; Mrs. Chas. Clayton, D.L., and Thos. Ford, all of Providence; Mrs. Lonnie Hodges, Farmersville, J.D. of Oklahoma; Ollie of Detroit and Herbert of Herrin, Ill., three sisters, Mrs. Sue Towery, Mrs. Lou Osborn and Mrs. Tone Simpson, all of Providence; two brothers, John Ford of this county and Abb of Arkansas in addition there are sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Interment was in the Ford family cemetery near Shady Grove. In order to reach the place of interment it was necessary to travel approximately 200 miles because of floodwaters between Providence and Shady Grove. The distance is normally eight miles.
