Alfred Price was the son of Reuben Ryan Price and Dorothy (Cody) Price. He married first Mariah Ann Cook, They had one son, William Oscar Price. Mariah Ann died 9 days after his birth. William Oscar was killed in the Civil War. He married second Alice Lee on 15 Sept 1837 in Hinds Co., MS. Alice was the daughter of Jesse Lee (1793-1889) and Elizabeth Dessie Yates Lee (1790-1862) Alice and Alfred lived through the war between the states - four of their sons were confederate soldiers, two gave their lives and another was seriously wounded. Alfred and Alice moved to Texas in 1872 where he was a farmer. They had 10 children: Helen Catherine, Richard F., Ruben Lee, Jesse Franklin, James Meredith, Alfred Cody, Alice E., Elizabeth Yates, Martha Mariah, and Lucy Jane.
