Patrick Wolfe, old and highly respected citizen of Ottawa, passed away at Ryburn hospital Sunday evening, after an illness of a year's duration. He had been a patient at the hospital since last September. The deceased was born in Ireland, March 17, 1830, coming to this country in 1848. With other members of the family he located in LaSalle county, residing there since with the exception of ten years which were spent in California. He was a blacksmith by trade, but many years ago gave up the business on account of an injury to his back. One brother,Richard of Eagle township, survives.

Funeral of Patrick Wolfe is Held at St. Columba Church Death occurred at Ryburn Hospital After Illness of Eleven Months Duration. Many friends and life long acquaintances of Patrick Wolfe, pioneer Ottawa resident, who passed away Sunday at Ryburn Memorial Hospital, attended the funeral services conducted this morning at St. Columba church, with Rev. J. P. Quinn officiating. Interment took place in St. Columba Cemetery, with the following pallbearers: M.T. Moloney, Richard Wolfe, E.L.Dwyer, Jas. T. Walsh, John McDonnell and Thos Flavin. The deceased was born in Ireland March 17, 1830, and came to this country in 1848. With some other members of his family, he came directly to this county, where they settled. Mr. Wolfe had resided here ever since, except for ten years, which he spent inCalifornia. He was a blacksmith by trade, but had to give up this business many years ago on account of an injury to his back. When a youth Mr. Wolfe carried the mail on horseback between this city and Chicago. Richard Wolfe, of Eagle township,was a brother, and Richard Wolfe and Mrs. Margaret Farrell of this city, were cousins of the deceased.
