Jason A. Cox, 23, of Bonfield, died Wednesday after his Suzuki motorcycle struck a car that was turning into a driveway along Illinois Route 102 near 4150W Road.

Cox was eastbound when the crash occurred, shortly before 6 p.m. He was transported to Provena St. Mary's Hospital where he later died of injuries from the collision.

Jason A. Cox, 23, of Bonfield, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in the emergency room at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.

Jason was employed at Shapiro Developmental Center. He was a 2006 graduate of Herscher High School. He cared a lot about the residents at Shapiro and on his own time spent time with them. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, custom trucks and hanging out with friends.

Surviving are his parents, Rick and Constance Cross Cox of Kankakee; two brothers, Brandon and Nathan Cox, both of Kankakee; his dog, Shadow, and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pearl and Betty Cox, and Tom and Sharon Cross.

Services: Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Scott Graham officiated.

Burial: Bonfield Cemetery.
