Bernard, Sr., and Christina immigrated to New York from Germany and then settled in Iowa. They had children which are as follows: John, Catherine, Lorona (spell?), Mary, Adelaide, Bernard, Elizabeth, Johanna, Henry, Anna, William, Caroline, and Agnes. John and Catherine were born in New York while the rest were born in Iowa. I have the 1900 census showing Bernard, Sr., as a patient, living in the Iowa Hospital for the Insane in Buchanan County, Iowa.
