Mrs. William Kirchhofer Of Shumway Dies

Shumway — Mrs. William (Augusta Emma) Kirchhofer, Sr., 77, of route 1, Shumway, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient there for four weeks.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1888 in Altamont, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stuckemeyer. She leaves her husband, William, Sr.; sons, Clarence, Carlinville; Arthur, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Ervin, Hillsboro; Don, Jacksonville; William, Jr., Ashton; Norman, Shumway; a daughter, Mrs. Rolla (Edna) Kelly, Shumway; brother, Edward, Strasburg; George and Louis, Windsor; Herman, Lake Sara; and Fred, Altamont; and 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran church in Shumway, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Johnson funeral home in Effingham after 2 p.m. Wednesday and at the church after noon Thursday. The body will not be shown at the service.
