John J. Zemanick, 84, of Colehamer Road died Sunday at his residence after a long illness.
Mr. Zemanick was born in Miners Mills, Pa., and had lived in Troy before moving to Poestenkill 40 years ago.
He retired in 1965 from Knolls Atomic Lab in Niskayuna where he was a materials specialist.
Mr. Zemanick was a World War II Army veteran and was discharged as a sergeant with the 65th Armored Field Artillery.
He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park and was a member of the Sgt. Walter A. Adams Post 1021 of the American Legion in Averill Park.
He was the widower of Agnes C. Wilk Zemanick.
Survivors include five sons, Peter Zemanick of Pittsburgh, John J. Zemanick Jr. of Severna Park, Md., Thomas Zemanick of Poestenkill, Edward Zemanick of Rochester and Chief Master Sgt. Frank Zemanick of Hurlburt Field, Fla.; three brothers, Albert Zemanick of Binghamton, Frank Zemanick of Ellicott City, Md., and Fr. Peter Zemanick of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Mary Mlodzinsky of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services in the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel, Route 43 & 66 at Glass Lake, Averill Park, and in St. Henry's Church in Averill Park.
Burial will be in St. Henry's Cemetery in Averill Park.
