Mollie was the daughter of John Daniel "Judge Dan" Moore, born in Franklin County, Kentucky, and Margaret Hamilton of Clark County, Kentucky.

Mollie married George Washington Bryant, son of Finney Radaford Bryant and Sarah Ann Sudduth. They were the parents of two children, Nora and Elwood.

George died in 1895, and in July 1896, during the "Benson Flood" the Bryant's home, which was the toll house, was swept away. Mollie and her two children were in their home. Her father tried in vain to rescue them, but was unsuccessful and the three were drowned in the swollen creek.
