Margaret R. DeFrance, 92, Green Bay, died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at a local care facility. She was born on April 26, 1918 in Two Rivers to the late Martin and Magdaline Schleis. She attended St. Mary of the Angels grade school and East High. After graduating from high school, she took up a career of managing the lunch counter of F.W. Woolworth. Then she became the owner of the Savory Restaurant on Broadway St. in Green Bay during the 1940's. Margaret then became the owner of Care de' France and the 141 Motel on Main St. in Green Bay. After selling the business, she had a successful career in antiques and appraisals called ABC Antiques.

She is survived by her two sons, John "Jack" (Sandra) DeFrance, Green Bay, Charles "Chuck" (special friend, Jane DeMoulin) DeFrance, Green Bay; grandchildren, Lisa Noskowiak, David (Trisha) DeFrance and Martin DeFrance; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary (George) Karras, Appleton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; two sons, Richard and Douglas.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial service 12 Noon Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Jose Antonio Castaneda officiating. Burial of the urn will take place in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses of Bornemann Nursing Home for all of their care and concern given to Margaret.
