Mrs. Alta Gale, 74, R.R.3, died Monday night at her home on East Centennial Pike following an extended illness. She was born in Madison County, but had lived in Delaware County for 49 years.

She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene for 46 years and a life member of the Missionary Society of the church. Mrs. Gale was a member of the Warner Gear Sympathy Club Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Ross; two sons, Emery Lee Gale of R.R.1 Parker, and Don E. Gale, R.R.3, Muncie; eight daughters, Mrs. Opal James, Mrs. Margaret Garner, Mrs. Deloris Nichols, Miss Verda Gale and Mrs. Reba Shorter, all of Muncie, Mrs. Imajean Brown of Albany, Mrs. Naomi Hurry of Lynn, and Mrs. Dorothy Erono of Lynwood, Calif; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Dobson of Anderson, Mrs. Clara Ridgeway and Mrs. Mary Burdette, both of Pendleton; 28 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the pastor, Rev. A.E. Woodcock, officiating. Burial will be in Yorktown Cemetery. Friends may call att he Parson Mortuary between 1 and 5 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. Wednesday and until one hour before the services Thursday, and at the church for the hour before the funeral.
