William Tovey Ashby, 82, of Murray, died September 18, 1990, at his home.
Born July 25, 1908 in Bountiful, Utah, to James Ralph and Elizabeth Tovey Ashby. Married Bertha Mae Andersen, October 11, 1937 in Salt Lake City. Spent early years and was educated in East Garland, Utah. During the depression he worked for the CCC's. He has lived in Murray for the past 20 years. He had worked as a mining operator at Kennecott. Member LDS Church.
Survived by his wife, Murray; daughter, Kathy and husband, Steven Cottam, Murray; six grandchildren, Kevin Cottam, Karen and husband, Ron Davies, Kristine, Kendall, Kent, Kyle Cottam; brothers, Elbert Ashby, New Plymouth, Idaho; Chester Ashby, Quincy, Washington; Clifford Ashby, Chico, California; Walter Ashby, Nyssa, Oregon; Roy Ashby, Bellflower, California; sisters, Bessie Hendricks, Vale, Oregon; Naomi White, California. Preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 22, 10 a.m., Murray LDS 20th Ward, 495 East 5600 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment: MacKay Lake Hills Cemetery. Funeral Directors: MacKay Lake Hills Mortuary.
