Leona May Ashby Casper, 96, passed away November 29, 1990 in a local nursing home.
Born March 22, 1894 in Aurora, Utah to John William Ashby and Celeste LaVina VanLeuvan. Married Jesse Clark Casper June 25, 1913; marriage later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple May 1, 1917. Active member of the LDS Church, former Relief Society president. A resident of Burley, Idaho from 1918-1937. She loved her jobs with various candy companies as a chocolate dipper.
Survivors; sons, George D. (Wanda Faa Clark) Casper, Milwalkie, Oregon; Francis W. (Thelda Fairchild) Casper, Oakley, Idaho; twin brothers, Don and John (Jack) Ashby; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband; and son, Preston Casper.
Funeral services will be Saturday December 1, 12 noon at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, where friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane.
