Claxton died Thursday, April. 7 at Saint John Medical Center in Tulsa. Claxton was born Dec. 23, 1939 in Tulsa to Oscar Ray and Annie Gwendolyn (Carter) Claxton.
He attended Prairie Glade School through the 9th grade and graduated from Coweta High School in 1957. Claxton worked as a chemist at Tulsa Rubber Company for 36 years until his retirement in 2001. He was of the Baptist faith.
On June 29, 1984 he and Patsie Orcutt were married in Coweta.
Claxton is survived by his wife, Patsie, of the home; one son, William and his wife, Autumn; six daughters, Pamela, Kim and her husband, Roger, Karen, Vickie and her husband, James, Karen and Kandi; one sister, Flo; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Bert Claxton and Jimmy Orcutt; one granddaughter, Andrea Leigh Mason and one son-in-law, Randy Walker.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Coweta for Arnold Lee Claxton, 71, of Coweta. The Rev. Lynn Moss will officiate the service.
Family will greet friends at the funeral home Sunday, April 10 from 4-6 p.m. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home.
