Ina P. Bookless, 93, died at Thorne Care Center of Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, KS. She was born April 12, 1908, at Orient, S.D., the daughter of Clark C. and Clara Reed Park. She came to Kansas as a small girl and grew to adulthood on a farm near Nickerson. She attended and graduated from the Nickerson School. On June 15, 1929, she married J. Orville Bookless in Pratt. To this union were born four children: two daughters, Wanda L. and husband, Donald Richards of Greensburg and Marilyn J. and husband, Delbert Gantz of Silver Spring, Md.; two sons,John C. and wife, Susan Bookless of Williamsburg, Va., and Lawrence R. and wife, Bonnie Bookless of Great Bend. She was survived by her four children and their spouses; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Ina was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Alvin Park; six infant brothers and sisters; one infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Bookless; and one great-granddaughter, Rashelle Kelly. Ina spent her adult life in Central and Southwest Kansas, the wife of a United Methodist Minister. They had their first appointment in the SouthwestKansas Conference at Wilberton-Richfield Church in 1929, then to Hugoton-Maple Leaf in 1929-1930. They also had appointments in Mayfield, Clearwater, Burchfield, Bloom, Elkart, Raymond-Ebenezer, Glen Elder, Scandia, Clyde- Agenda, Wakefield-Zoar, Attica, and retired from Montezuma-Ensign in 1974. They purchased a home in Greensburg at that time to be closer to their daughter, Wanda Richards. In 1988, they moved to Wesley Towers in Hutchinson. Her husband preceded her in death Nov. 10, 1988. Ina was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a life member of the Star of Hope chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 193, both of Greensburg. She had such a strong passion and love for God and her family. She will be truly missed by those blessed enough to know and love her.
