An active member of the LDS church all his life, Grant served in various callings including a full time mission to Melbourne, Australia, where he met his eternal sweetheart, Patricia Kathleen Tuohy. They were married on December 28th, 1951 in the St. George Utah Temple.
Grant was a brilliant musician and excelled in piano and organ, with a expertise in organ sounds or stops. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by children: Dale and Janet Colvin of Lehi, Utah; Bryan and Becky Colvin of San Jose, California; Gary and Carol Colvin of Puyallup, Washington; Kathy and Jim Blanco of Beaverton, Oregon; Mark Colvin of West Valey, Utah and Karol Patterson of Keizer, Oregon. Siblings: Loyd and Ella Colvin of Salem, Oregon; Carol and Jake Simmons of North Salt Lake, Utah; 18 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Myrlene Merrill.
