MERRITT, Joy Ellen - age 68, died Monday, April 4, 2011 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Flint Central High School in MI, Flint Community College, University of Michigan, with both a BS in Chemistry and an AMLS. She was a longtime member of Community of Christ (RLDS); member of American Chemical Society and Central Ohio Parkinson's Society. She retired from Chemical Abstracts with 41 years of service. She enjoyed music, sewing, gardening, reading and dominoes. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Leata Hutchins, brother Herbert and husband Robert. She is survived by sons Ronald (Micheleen) and Andrew (Mindy); grandchildren Rachel, Anna and Katherine; brothers Ronald, Merrill and Richard Hutchins and sister Helen Damouth. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 8 at Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes, Clintonville Chapel, 4341 N. High St. where the funeral service will the be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. Interment Union Cemetery. Elders John and Gloria Weese will officiate.
