Dominic Tramonte, 79, died Friday, Sept. 2, 1994. Born in Akron, Mr. Tramonte had been a life resident of the Akron and Median County area. He attended grade school at St. Mary's Catholic School, was a graduate of Granger High School, and also of Kent State University in 1940 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. In 1948 he founded, with his family, the Tramonte Distributing Co., of which he was co-owner. Mr. Tramonte served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Second Armored Division, in the Philippines and also New Guinea. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and past president of Boys Town of Italy.
His family was very important to him, and he enjoyed being outside. Preceded in death by parents, Giacomo and Carmela Alice Tramonte, and brothers, Joe and Andrew, Mr. Tramonte is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Ollie Mae (Bobbee); loving daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and David Dress, Angela and Dale Ripple, Valerie and Craig Tasker; loving daughter Rose Marie Tramonte; loving son and daughter-in-law, Jack (J.T.) and Marlene Tramonte; brother, Jack Salvatore Tramonte; sister Nina (Lee) Marino; 12 grandchildren; many nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives (including A.Chronicler), and friends.
Mass of the Christian Burial TODAY (Sept. 6), 10:30 AM, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Medina. Internment at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Order of the Poor Clares Monastery of Rocky River, 3501 Rocky River Dr., Cleveland 44111, or to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Medina.
